Civil rights lawyer Shaw​ to headline event Tuesday exploring housing discrimination case

In 1948, the U.S. Supreme Court unanimously ruled that housing covenants restricting home ownership based on race are unconstitutional. Leading the charge in that historic case was Margaret Bush Wilson, JD (right). Her legacy and that case will be explored at 4 p.m. Tuesday, Oct. 22, in Anheuser-Busch Hall, Bryan Cave Moot Courtroom. The event will feature Theodore M. Shaw, JD, law professor at Columbia University.

Scientists unravel mechanisms in chronic itching

New School of Medicine research shows that chronic itching, which can occur in many medical conditions, is different from the urge to scratch a mosquito bite. Chronic itching appears to incorporate more than just the nerve cells that normally transmit itch signals. In this image, researchers identified elevated signaling (in red) in nerve cells involved in both itch and pain.

Spring Awakening starts Friday at Edison

With its blunt depictions of 19th-century adolescent sexuality mixed with contemporary expression, Spring Awakening, by WUSTL alumnus Steven Sater, is among the most influential and beloved Broadway shows of recent years. On Friday, Oct. 25, the Performing Arts Department in Arts & Sciences will debut a new production at Edison Theatre.
